Portugal is rich in walking routes (Caminhadas) and trails (Trilhas), which you can explore in Carvoeiro. Villas, we are most interested in the coastline and countryside of the Algarve for you. Significantly, Portugal has invested in protecting the coastline and countryside in areas with heavy footfall. Moreover, you will see many wooden boardwalks as walking trails. Enjoy three main boardwalks in the locality of Carvoeiro:
Firstly, Carvoeiro:- Algar Seco to the chapel. It follows the cliffs, gives you access to the rock formation, and has two seating areas to walk the sunset. Furthermore, it is lit at night if you fancy a late-night stroll.
Secondly, Praia Grande – Salgados – Gale:- Follows the nature reserve lagoon and has unique birdwatching platforms (For more severe Twitchers)
Thirdly, Alvor: This is probably the longest, with multiple routes, and is just south of the main village and the marina area. The walkway takes you on a circular to the east of Alvor, around the nature reserve, with exits to the beach.
We have two excellent marked walking trails for you in the Carvoeiro area.
The 7 Hangand ing Well-known Vales Suspensos) is the first and most well-known. A linear walk from Praia da Marinha to Praia de Centianes. Approx. 6km with stunning scenery.
Secondly, the less well-known is the Trail of the Headlands (Caminho dos Promontiorios), which has incredible scenery. Linear from Praia do Paraiso to Praia do Molhe.
Without a doubt, 2020 and the start of 2021 were not kind to the rental market. Despite this, we worked hard in the background with the villas. In addition, we have been exploring the Algarve countryside. You can even follow our adventures directly on Wikiloc.
Furthermore, why not go inland and discover the Portuguese countryside, like the trail of the historic battle at Sant Ana or the archaeological walk of Vale Fuzeiros Menires? Furthermore, the Monchique walks are on the Trail of the Windmills and Trail of the Waterfalls for the more adventurous.
